You know you should brush and floss daily and see the Rod Eccles, DDS team regularly for exams and cleanings to enjoy better dental health. But did you know you should also drink plenty of water? It’s important any time, but especially in the summer when your body loses more moisture through perspiration.
There are several reasons why it’s important to stay hydrated. Check out our infographic to learn more about four of them.
You should try to consume half a gallon of water a day. The good news is, at least some of that water can come from food that contains lots of moisture such as melons, berries, and salad.
If your mouth still feels dry, Dr. Eccles will work with you to determine if there are underlying causes that need to be addressed. For example, some medications cause dry mouth. He’ll also give you some tips that may help and can suggest products that increase the moisture level in your mouth so you can experience better dental health.
